Light up the room with your voice

A Smart Light Bulb (or Smart Bulb) is a light bulb that can be controlled from your phone or home assistant. The smart bulb connects to wi-fi and is commandable with your voice if you have a Google Nest Mini— Hey Google, turn on the lights! 

​The smart bulbs are inexpensive, energy efficient and full color LEDs. The smart bulbs communicate over wi-fi so your lights can be commanded anywhere with internet access. The smart bulbs can also be scheduled to turn on or off according to events like sunrise or sunset. There are many possibilities! 

My workshop teaches the basic setup and operation of a smart bulb. Together we will step through initial setup and command the bulb to start. By the end of the workshop patrons will have learned the necessary skills to set up and use their own smart bulb. This workshop complements the Google home workshop extremely well. It is popular among adults— especially those who recently acquired a smart bulb (or looking to purchase one) and are learning to use it.
